Welcome to Hostal Azahara – the nice and affordable place to stay in Nerja.
Due to the excellent location of the hostel you will easily find us when coming to Nerja both by car or by bus. Famous Balcon de Europe and wonderful beaches are only 10 minutes walk away, the bustling nightlife, shopping area and restaurants are within walking distance when you stay at the welcoming family run Hostal Azahara.
Azahara is open for you all year around. Our reception works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Having stayed at Azahara once, our guests came back to stay with us again, and this is the best reward for us.

N.B. Guests would need to go up a set of stairs to get to the reception and bottom floor of Hostal Azahara. Sadly, that makes the hostel wheelchair-inaccessible. |

Hostal Azahara is located 35 minutes from Malaga in the old fishing village of Nerja.
By air:
The nearest airport to Nerja is Malaga, which is about 50 km and a 45 minute drive away. Your alternatives are the airports of Granada (100km), Sevilla (230km) or Almeria (160 km). There are numerous car hire companies at the Malaga airport and all of them are able to take advance bookings on their websites. Also you can take a taxi to the hostel from the airport, which will cost you €60-70.
By car:
The A-7/E-15 motorway runs parallel to the coast, Nerja is situated 10 min from it, and is clearly signposted.
-Follow the N340 towards Almería and Motril.
-Take the first exit 292 to Nerja.
-When you reach the 2nd round about exit towards Parador and you will see the hostel on the left hand side next to the bus station.
By bus:
Alternatively, for around €1, immediately outside the arrivals lounge you can pick up a shuttle bus to Malaga bus station from where it is possible to get a bus to Nerja. The journey takes around 1hr 30 min and costs approximately €3. The hostel is located next to bus station, there is no chance you’ll miss it, even if it’s your first visit to Nerja, or you are coming late at night.
