Hotel Sugar Beach is a 3-star boutique hotel along Costa Rica's northern Pacific Coast. This charming beachfront hotel sits on a secluded cove in Guanacaste, a province famed for sunshine, surfing, eco-adventures and incredible natural beauty.
Our hotel offers comfort and personalized service in a spectacular beach setting. We are able to accommodate up to 80 guests in our rooms, suites and beach houses, strung out along a sprawling 24-acre property on Playa Pan de Azúcar, in the heart of the dry tropical forest. Our intimate location paired with informal elegance makes the Hotel Sugar Beach ideal for families, romantic getaways and private events. |

Restaurant:
The hotel restaurant is open daily to our guests, serving a complimentary breakfast and a lunch and dinner menu of traditional Costa Rica cuisine, international dishes and fresh local fare, including fresh-caught seafood from the Pacific waters. Dine on our covered, open-air patio overlooking the ocean and swimming pool, or enjoy room service on your guest suite balcony.
Gift Shop:
The Hotel Sugar Beach has a gift shop that features books, nature guides & maps, Costa Rican & World music and local art and handicrafts. Here you will find the famed Guaitil pottery, made with the ancient traditional techniques used by the Chorotega Indians. The materials used are taken from the nearby hills, and the pots are fashioned and painted by hand without electricity or foot pedals, and fired in large, outdoor ovens.
Swimming Pool:
The hotel has a swimming pool for guests, fun for families and children, reaching a depth of 1.65 metres (5.5ft). The pool is surrounded by tropical gardens, and overlooks the beach, blue water meeting the blue horizon – a perfect way to cool down.
Beach:
Our boutique hotel is set on the secluded beach cove of Playa Pan de Azúcar. The shelter of the cove protects the warm Pacific waters from strong currents. This small light-sand beach is fun for all ages, with gentle waves to practice boogie-boarding and surfing, and good snorkeling along the northern and southern points, where turtles, rays, trumpetfish, parrotfish and many more tropical marine species swim in the clear waters.
Massage:
Enjoy a luxurious seaside massage in your guest suite. Hotel Sugar Beach is happy to recommend a local massage therapist to help melt away stress and worry, all in the privacy and convenience of your own room.
Tours:
For those who wish for activities in the hotel's immediate vicinity, we can arrange a tour with the Outriggers, large ocean-going canoes that can accommodate a group of people to explore the surrounding coastline. An experienced crew will lead you on a half-hour ocean ride to a nearby deserted beach with a reef where you can snorkel, relax and explore your surroundings. |
